My Weekly Indulgence: Homemade Whipped Cream

I wanted to start 2018 on the right note to make this year special.  Last year was really rough on me and I was foolish enough to want to rely on others to make it better.  This year, I’m going to take care of myself properly and treat myself well. Each week I’ll be posting about my favorite indulgence, starting off with home-made whipped cream.

One of my favorite things in life is Food.  It makes me so happy and excited. It opens my senses and stimulates my thoughts.  Today I just had a craving for just a bowl of barely sweetened, delicious hand-whipped whipped cream.  The only thing that would have made this treat even more delicious would be a double expresso.

And yes, that’s blueberries on whipped cream, and not the other way around.  I figure whipping it by hands burns enough calories that I deserve this delicious treat.  After all, we’re just fooling ourselves into thinking we only want a dollop of cream on our fruit.

Fun fact, I actually prefer blueberries to strawberries, a very unpopular opinion, I know.  Maybe it’s because I visited a blueberry farm when I was a kid, or maybe it’s because they don’t get stuck in my teeth, either way, I could eat blueberries with everything. Give me blueberry sauce, cover them in chocolate or bake them in a pie, I am a total sucker for every variety they come in.
